Year 11 & 12 Coordinators Message

As the year draws to a close and we begin to wind down, there is one final event on the calendar that is exciting, as it is hard work to get right and our year 12's certainly got it right. I am proud to say that the 2019 MFC VCE Graduation night went off without a hitch and a good time was had by all who attended and took part in the proceedings. Pianist Mr. Hamzah Naveed & Violinist Mr. Salih Lelik's performance, who are two of our very own Year 12 Students, both surprised and stunned audience members. Accompanied by music performances by Sirius College Boys Band and their wonderfully talented Mr Christian Prochilo, students drew applause from the parents and students alike. The Australian Defence Force Long tan Youth Leadership Award presenter Wing Commander Joseph Coleiro's speech was interrupted with cheers from the excited students when he mentioned he was also a Broadmeadows boy and his inspirational speech will be long remembered by some of our more aspirational students to say the least. The parents speech was also emotional as Fahad Rabbani's mother, who is a lawyer, delivered a string of memorable moments, numerous praises to our college, teachers and staff and she was almost reduced to tears when she recounted her meeting with the former MFC principal Mr Omer Ayvaz regarding the ups and downs of parenting her 2 sons, both of whom now have graduated successfully from our humble school. One particular speech was also well received by the audience and the students and that was about the wonderful work of the alumni and the planned 'Final Roll Call' event happening again next year organised by our very own Ms. Esma Yucel so keep an eye out for that one on our school calendar. The food was awesome, the desserts to die for and the hat throw very memorable I'm sure for the boys to fondly remember for years to come. Farewell my year 12's and all the best to my year 11's for next year as I will be moving onto another position within the campus and all my best to the incoming MFC year 11's & 12's coordinator for 2020.

Year 7 Squash

The Year 7 SPE class was selected to participate in a Sports Program run by Squash Victoria. The students have been learning all the fundamentals skills and knowledge required to play and game from a professional Squash player. I have seen an unbelievable progression from all students.
